Raphael Wyniger - from hotelier to entrepreneur

The Wyniger Group owns three hotels, several restaurants and a number of production facilities such as a roastery and brewery. It all started with a hotel. In 2009, Raphael Wyniger took over the hotel and cultural center "Der Teufelhof Basel" and put his knowledge from his basic commercial training and further education at the Lucerne Hotel Management School into practice. He soon looked beyond the hotel walls and founded the Wyniger Group. Today, the group includes three hotels, several restaurants, bars and cafés as well as production facilities such as a roastery, bakery, brewery and distillery. How does Raphael Wyniger maintain an overview here and what is the added value - but also the challenge - of being his own producer?

Raphael Wyniger grew up in Basel. In addition to his own businesses, he is actively involved in the industry and served as "Corona" President of HotellerieSuisse Basel und Region for three years - from 2020 to 2023. In spring 2023, Wyniger was elected to the Board of Directors of Messe Schweiz MCH Group, his second board mandate in addition to KKL Luzern. The father of three is an active sportsman and competes in marathons around the world.
