The Hotel Restaurant Weinstube in Nendeln FL has been awarded the ibex fairstay sustainability label. The three-star superior hotel has been run by the Schächle management couple for over 30 years. With the certification, they wanted to increasingly incorporate their own values into the business and make them visible to the outside world.
Jürgen and Dagmar Schächle have been running the Hotel Restaurant Weinstube Nendeln for over 30 years in the second generation. Jürgen Schächle has known the hotel and restaurant business since he was a child. Dagmar Schächle was introduced to the art of hospitality by her mother-in-law and found her calling. They both enjoy being able to realize themselves in their work. This includes their strong values for socially and ecologically sustainable action. With the ibex fairstay certification, they wanted to make the many efforts already integrated visible to the outside world and thus stand out from the competition.
Strengthening the community in the village and worldwide
The owners are happy to take responsibility for a good community. They open the restaurant on Sunday mornings especially for the regulars' table. This regulars' table culture pleases churchgoers and other villagers alike. The hosts also receive something in return for this appreciative gesture: the Weinstube is a popular address in the village for family celebrations of all kinds. The restaurant is making a more international commitment by participating in the "Üsers Wasser - Drink & Donate" project, in which a small amount is charged for tap water and donated to charitable projects for basic water supplies.
Highest values in social commitment
For Dagmar and Jürgen Schächle, good teamwork is the basis for good performance. "You spend so much time at work, you should also feel good about it," says Dagmar Schächle and radiates this. It doesn't take very long to fill vacancies in the wine bar. Jürgen Schächle says that they have probably just been lucky in the past, but there is a warm atmosphere in the place, which undoubtedly has an influence that should not be underestimated. The Weinstube also scores top marks in the social sustainability dimension, which can also be seen in the long-standing employees. Some of them have been working here for over 30 years.
Balancing act between business and leisure
The proximity to the surrounding companies is predestined for a focus on business guests. Until recently, this was also the main segment occupying the 17 hotel rooms. The proportion of regular guests is high, and it is not for nothing that the Weinstube calls itself "the family business hotel". In addition to business guests, the Weinstube, with its perfect location in the border triangle, also has many guests who are passing through. Recently, the three-star superior hotel has also increasingly been accommodating vacation guests and hikers. This change is due to the "Liechtenstein Trail". The long-distance hiking trail across the country was launched with great success by the Liechtenstein Tourism Organization. "It was a change for us, as vacation guests have different needs to business travelers," says Dagmar Schächle. However, the new focus has been successful and has already led to many wonderful encounters, as Jürgen Schächle explains: "The nature and tranquillity here, which have already become a matter of course for the local population, are greatly appreciated by international guests.
