The Swiss Youth Hostels attach great importance to sustainable management. During the audits, it was noticeable how the management and their teams deal intensively and in a future-oriented manner with the topic of sustainability. Pontresina Youth Hostel showed top performance across all five dimensions of management, environment, social issues, regional roots and economic efficiency. ibex fairstay warmly congratulates the teams of the ten youth hostels and wishes them much joy and enthusiasm for further sustainability measures.

Welcome to Pension Kalkbreite Zurich
The Pension & Guesthouse Kalkbreite in Zurich was the first hotel in the city to decide to have the sustainability path it has already taken reviewed, improved and awarded with ibex fairstay. The hotel boasts an excellent location with excellent public transport connections, bright rooms furnished with sustainable materials and flex meeting rooms. The Kalkbreite residential and commercial building has been certified as a "2000 watt site" since 2017.

In the coming months, 14 youth hostels will be recertified with the ibex fairstay label. The managers met in Zurich for a training session and to work together on the questionnaire. The youth hostels have been working with ibex fairstay since 2006. They are regarded throughout Switzerland as a role model for sustainable management in the accommodation sector. The certification process is greatly simplified by the close cooperation between the ibex fairstay office and the Swiss Youth Hostels Service Center.
